No one is saying that a dumb tweet is "worse" than a DUI, but that also has nothing at all to do with what we are talking about ITT. But you know that.

Henry didn't make a lame arse tweet to get attention.
So what? It was 2013.
Henry literally needed his father figure, father, mother, high school coach and Saban to sit him down and beg him to reason and not transfer.
Hilarious how much people like you can't handle a kid being a kid yet expect a kid to be a grown man.
He isn't grown. He's an emotional teenager.

And this is what makes coaching so hard - a bus load of emotional teenagers

All I know is Mac Jones, Brian Robinson and Devonta Smith never tweeted this kind of shite when they were waiting their turn.
Mac Jones was a 3star who knew he needed time to develop. He has openly stated he never expected to come in and start.
Brian Robinson was a 4star who came in behind other great RBs and knew he would have to wait. Brian STILL got 24 carries his freshman year.
Devonta literally caught the game winning TD for a national championship his freshman year.
So why would Devonta or Brian complain when they are getting burn?? Hall is complaining because he isn't.
There is a difference.

Yeah that is very different from adults. This forum for example

In the end if you know they're teenagers you have to be understanding and reason. Which is what Saban seems to do.

There is an obvious difference between making a whiney tweet to the masses, and seeking counsel with your family and coach.
No one is blaming Hall for being upset about wanting more playing time, and feeling like he is ready. Those things happen with most highly recruited players who aren't seeing the field much. Its about how he is handling it. He's going about it the wrong way, clearly.

I expect our players to not air out their teenage emotions on Twitter like a school girl in an attempt for people to feel sorry for him when they aren't getting their way. Not to mention him liking posts that are blasting his own teammate.
If you think that that is acceptable, then so be it, but people's disapproval over this kind of thing is pretty reasonable.

Nick Saban's response to freshman WR Agiye Hall's frustrated tweet (BOL)

quote:
On Monday, head coach Nick Saban was asked what his message was to Hall.
“It is what it is,” Saban told reporters. “But look, it still comes down to players creating value for themselves by what they do. I’ve said this before, that there’s players that have talent but they have to learn how to use it and they have to use it in an effective way in the way they practice. It’s up to the player to impress the coaches that they can be trusted to go in the game and do what they’re supposed to do. So when players get frustrated, they sometimes don’t respond the way they should in terms of their preparation and focusing on what they need to do to become a good player because they’re so concerned about how much they’re playing.
“If players are competitors, they probably will be frustrated that they’re not playing. But it’s how do you respond to that? What do you do to respond to that in a positive way that’s gonna help you improve your circumstances in the future? And the way to do that is do the right things and go out and practice and play well, so not only that but your teammates and everybody in the organization can trust you to go do what you’re supposed to do.”
Hall has played in three games this season – Miami, Mercer and Mississippi State – and caught one pass for 10 yards in the fourth quarter of the opener against the Hurricanes.

Lol that tweet hurt you badly huh?
Henry didn't seek counsel he wanted to transfer and Saban heard and tried to talk him out of it. That didn't work so the father figure, family and high school coach stepped in and basically told Derrick he couldn't leave

These are kids. You're an adult and getting mad at them and wanting them punished or out of the program for being immature... is immature in its on right.
Glad Saban doesn't handle situations the way some of you would.

Again that tweet must have hurt you lol.
That's how people communicate these days and the worst ones doing it are adults (for instance fans). It's not an excuse but it should lead to a rational reaction, not some foolish one kicking him out because your feelings are hurt he tweeted dissatisfaction.
The reality is he is an emotional teenager mad and feeling he is being hard done because he is obviously talented but not getting the time.
Many great Alabama players have experienced this but didn't have twitter to lash out. He just needs guidance, just like we all did at 18.

He's gotten some good guidance, but apparently doesn't follow it. I get your point about some fans overreacting to it. Thankfully, Saban simply continues encouraging him to meet appropriate standards.

So did Derrick Henry and Henry still wanted to transfer until family and friends intervened.
If not for them Derrick Henry would have been long gone.

Henry's behavior doesn't justify Hall's behavior.

Neither does Tua's, etc etc..
However it does show a consistent with these teenagers and proves my point that patience is a virtue when dealing with them.
Not some irrational bullshite bravado because your feelings are hurt a kid is acting like a kid.

Lol you definitely did.
The one where two of the players you mentioned were playing so had no need to tweet a complaint while the third knew coming in he wasn't going to play his freshmen year and was focused on gaining weight and learning the position.

Now that it is all out for all to see (after Nick's comments today) I wouldn't be surprised if either of them are still with the team after the open date.
We'll see

I enjoy some of his posts and have no problem with him. I just notice that he argues with a lot of posters. It detracts from the knowledge that he shares sometimes.

Like I said, I get the frustration some young players feel over not getting to play as much as they think they deserve to play, and I agree that some fans overreact (too emotional/harsh) to players venting their frustration. But it's probably a lost cause trying to convince those fans to be more patient and just let Saban handle it.

Where did I get "mad" at anyone?

Where did I say that I wanted him "punished" or "out of the program?"
Hall publicly stated that he was going to quit. I, like most posters in here, are simply saying that if he feels so strongly as to make a passive aggressive public statement stating so, then go for it. It doesn't help that he is passive aggressively denigrating his teammates via Twitter.

It's pretty lame to communicate that way, no matter the age or the context.

I don't find my reaction irrational.

Again, show me where is said that I wanted him kicked off the team.
