How does Alabama make the playoffs?

Before I get started; if you're here to post, "We don't" or "If we did make it, we'd just get embarrassed" then move along, this post isn't for you. Also, nobody likes you.
Alright, now lets be brutally honest: It's a long shot. Bama is on the outside looking in, and they have no one to blame but themselves. But whatever, they're my team, no matter what and I'm always going to pull for them to win it all, whether the rest of the country thinks they deserve it or not. So, IF Alabama beats Auburn, what else needs to happen to get them in?
The first domino just dropped as I typed this: Tulane losing to Memphis stops any idea of them making it by winning the AAC. Before the loss, Tulane had a 31% chance according to ESPN's playoff predictor, compared to Bama's 30%. No more worries on that front now.
Second, a Clemson loss eliminates one more team ahead of us. Yep, I worry about South Carolina jumping us with a big win, but we own the head-to-head with the Gamecocks, so I'll take my chances.
Third, a Notre Dame loss to USC. Notre Dame ain't played nobody Pawwwwl! And they lost to Northern Illinois! With another loss, they drop significantly, likely out of the Playoff picture.
Fourth, Texas beats A&M. Lets go ahead and set the SEC Championship game with the two SEC teams that are most likely going to make it anyway. There is some argument that if Texas were to lose, they would be behind us, but I can't put much stock in that.
Fifth, the Big 12 shakes out so that only the conference champ can make it. However that works, whether Arizona beats ASU, Iowa State loses to KSU, Houston beats BYU, and/or Oklahoma State beats Colorado, any combination of those upsets works in our favor.
Sixth, either Miami or SMU drops a game. Or they both lose, really, I don't care, but loss by either would likely narrow the field of possible Playoff teams out of the ACC to 1 or 2 at most.
Finally, Boise State losing to Oregon State tomorrow would be nice, just to insure that they don't make the Playoffs with a loss in the Mountain West title game. There are some other games that could shake out in our favor, but aren't strictly necessary or are highly unlikely, such as Indiana losing to Purdue, Vandy upsetting Tennessee, or Ole Miss losing to MSU.
Not all of the above absolutely must happen to get Bama in, but it would certainly be nice to see most of it fall into place. Aaaand if you think it's pathetic to sit around and piece together a possible Alabama playoff appearance, I'd like to remind you that Iowa State still holds a special place in my heart for their contribution to Alabama's 2011 BCS title and I will always be grateful to Arkansas for their amazing win over Ole Miss in 2015, which put Bama back in the SEC title game. Needing a little help isn't unprecedented for the Tide, so while I am disappointed to need it, we've been here before...

Tulane has no impact. Their rate was high because they were expected to get in over the Big 12 winner. All this does is mean the Big 12 championship winner will be in the playoff regardless of rank (top 5 conference champions)
Boise is also meaningless under the same outcome. Their spot still exists because of the championship game, if UNLV wins against Boise they’re in
The 7 at large spots are what matters. So Vandy - Tenn, UGA - GT, Clemson - SCAR, etc. are what need to happen. Easiest route is SCAR beating Clemson then hoping for one upset on the remaining group

Beat the cow college.
Chaos will happen beyond that game, but not without a win.
ETA: Folks seem to have very short term memories. Alabama will get in as a controversial pick this year for the media draw alone if other teams derp it up (odds are they will). The field has tripled in size this year. Alabama got in BCS in 2011 as controversial pick, and 2017 CFP as controversial pick and won both.
This year the team looks weak. So do most teams, including Oregon. The transfer rule is driving it. Need to beat the cow college to make anything happen.
Just Win Bama

It’s way more simple than you think
Beat Auburn
SC beats Clemson
Miami wins by 10+ against SMU
That’s it.
Obviously if chaos unfolds in the top 10 we move up anyway.

The Tulane loss clears the water a little. The AAC is not getting a representative in the Playoff and therefore it narrows the list of contenders. Now the Big 12 Champ can get in without controversy, even if they all lose this week.
Now if Tulane would've won out and they're sitting there with 2 losses as a conference champ, while BYU or whoever is also sitting there with 2 losses as a conference champ, the committee is likely to reward BOTH of them over a 3-loss Alabama. I believe Tulane might've jumped Alabama in the next rankings if they'd won against Memphis.
Boise is currently two spots ahead of us in the playoff rankings. By their ranking alone, they are in the playoff field. So, if they win this week and then lose the MW title game, the committee has said they won't punish teams for playing in their conference title games. Does that mean that they'll keep Boise ahead of Alabama on Selection Sunday? If they do what they said they would, then the answer is yes.

This is just a gut feeling but a lot of these teams have never in any recent years been in the hunt for a playoff spot let alone a championship. I think we will have some choke artist coming this week and next. The committee will punish for championship games if they get blown out or something similar. In my opinion.

Beat barn AND,
Miami loss.
SMU loss.
Clemson loss.
ND loss.
Any combination those things happening will do it, I believe.
I prefer everyone in the Top 12 losing this week or next. That would be outstanding.
If SMU, Miami, AND Clemson lose, BAMA is in if they beat barn. The ACC can really frick themselves thus weekend. Here's to it.

Yeah this is the simplest and most reasonable way. If Miami beats SMU down they are out and we are in.
Then again if Vandy can bear rocky top there will be a question of who gets the third SEC spot as well.
