The NCAA has no mechanism to block the hire even if we wanted to bring him in to replace Valai. There's no show cause and he hasn't even been formally accused of any rules violations as far as I know. It's a somewhat similar situation to Freeze, who would still be in Oxford if not for the hooker stuff. It got played off as him doing it for himself, but he was undoubtedly arranging escorts for visiting recruits even if it couldn't be proven and that's why Sankey blackballed him.

All of Pete's pre-Bama experience is coaching DBs. Would love to see him fill Valai's spot and have Pruitt coaching ILBs.

That's the first I'd heard that. Are we sure about that? Why would the head coach be the one arranging that? Even a total jackass would know that's a job you give a minion.
