BAMA has won most of their championships with very good but not elite QBs. Elite defenses win championships. 2020 is the anomoly.
Greg McElroy (2009) ... defense 2nd
AJ McCarron (2011-12) ... defense 1st both years
Jake Coker (2015) ... defense 2nd
Hurts/Tua (2017) ... defense 1st
Mac Jones (2020) ... defense 13th

Milroe's legs are a game changer compared to this list.
I like what I saw last night but defense can't play 40 mins against UGA and other good competition.

I don't understand some folks here... Y'all want to score 50, but you want to hold onto the ball for 20 play drives. You want a perfect QB, but can't accept a QB that is a great young man, confident in himself, and humble...and knows how to win despite not being perfect. Maybe I'm biased because my child got to hang around him a lot last year, but I've heard nothing but great things about this young man. And the players love him, too.
He's going to mess up, but he bleeds crimson and will do a lot of electric off the cuff plays to win. Enjoy the show and don't try to put him in a box.

My one recurring criticism with Milroe is that he isn't always focused on the snap - he is looking in other places and snaps that come at his face catch him by surprise. Our center isn't the issue

For starters..a snap shouldn't come at his face. And definitely shouldn't go above his head. A good snapper can hit the QB in the hands so he doesn't have to field it like a grounder or pop fly.

I think the trajectory is magnified by the distance he stands from Center - but he should totally field a snap at his face. Just like receivers catch pass at their face.
