Man, I’d hate see Grady NOT go to Bama. I know Bama can’t get ‘em all but I hate like hell to see Bama whiff on big time in state recruits.
He’s not a take right now.

These in-state kids might be Bama fans , but they’re not diehard Bama fans. Especially when a payday is to be had.

Especially growing up in Troy. That part of the state isn’t really a Bama stronghold. It’s a weird place where there’s a big mix between Alabama, AU, and a bunch of other stuff mixed in.

Still majority Bama down south though

I seem to recall he was a Bama commit before with St. Nick, so I suspect he still is a take.

So a borderline 5 star who was previously committed to Bama is not a take now,lol...what edge rushers have moved ahead for him not to be a take?

He is not a LB, so doesn’t fit in our new defense.

Troy U has done a great job of growing its' fanbase with Troy #1.
Before Blakeney came from AU in 1991, you would see more people in apparel for AU and UA at the games.
When AU had the run with Pat Dye, orange and blue took the lead in the Wiregrass. Bama has recaptured that claim, especially lately. But the blend of fans in South Alabama and the Florida panhandle is surely diversified and spread out. Mostly between AU,UA,FSU,UF and LSU.

I’m sure he’s really good but how many LBs can Bama sign in this class?

Offensive Tackle that can play LB. Let's go!!!!

Evidently we will only sign LBs and then train and assign them to new positions. Or perhaps LB types are the only players that want to come here. Don’t know.

I remember a few years back Bama was recruiting Jake Raulerson, an OT recruit, instead as a JACK LB.
There was that weird span of time where they really struggled attracting top guys with the JACK pitch, and Raulerson was no different. He ended up picking Texas to play OL, before finishing up at Arkansas.
