Turnage didn't have the gas money to make it, but he's recruiting:

4:32 PM - Nov 24, 2018

Turnage will return soon on his OV.

ETA: 2020 5* DT McKinnley Jackson also wasn't able to make it.

Alabama has opened the season with 12 consecutive victories by 20 points or more, which is the most to start a season in NCAA history. The previous streak was 10 and set by Boise State from Sept. 14-Nov. 23, 2002.

I heard on the Blue Chips (CABC) show on YouTube that we got a verbal commitment from Javon Baker, a 2020 WR, out of Georgia.

Hell yeah

We almost have in-state lockdown for 2020. Story (and maybe Ashford) jump aboard and close things out.

Williams is a heck of a back. I sure hope we can hang on to him.

Don't like Ashford right now. He's young and has tools, but Star Jackson thinks he's raw. Even though a lot of QBs are a bit raw coming into college, he looks to be a LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG way from being a college QB.

Alabama lands top in-state RB
(BOL | embedded video)

Alabama beat Auburn on the field Saturday and then followed up with a victory on the recruiting trail. Four-star running back Roydell Williams, the No. 10 ball carrier in the 2020 class, committed to the Crimson Tide (tweet) on Saturday night following a visit to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl.

The Hueytown (Ala.) product named Bama his leader early on in 2018 before saying both the Tide and Tigers were neck and neck atop his list heading into the summer. Williams maintained that stance since then, visiting both schools multiple times this fall. “I just like building relationships with all the coaches and players there,” Williams said earlier this year on what he likes about Alabama.

The 4-star back considered making a commitment during a visit for the Champions Cookout back in June, but decided to hold off to continue evaluating his options. The 5-foot-10, 202-pounder exploded this past season for nearly 2,800 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Hueytown head coach Scott Mansell talked about his success this fall with BamaOnLine. “The biggest thing is he had an extra year in the weight room; he’s 10 pounds bigger,” Mansell said.

“He’s bigger, faster, stronger, he’s hitting that 204-205 weight range, which allows him to run through people a little bit better. But he also gained some top-end speed to where he breaks a run and nobody is catching him. He’s just a different player this year than he was last year.”

Mansell has coached his fair share of players in his two dozen years in the profession, but it's Williams that has impressed him the most.

“He’s the best player I’ve ever coached, there’s no doubt about that,” Mansell said. “I got asked that the other day. I’m in my 24th year of coaching and they asked me if I’d ever seen a player of his caliber and I’ve only seen one and that was Carnell “Cadillac” Williams that I coached against in 2000. That would be the closest comparison as far as just witnessing it on the field.”

Williams, the No. 243 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, is commitment No. 9 in the Tide's 2020 class. The pledge bumps the Tide ahead of Ohio State to the No. 2 spot in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

Nick Saban and staff have focused on the state of Alabama in 2020 thus far with the majority of its pledges calling the Yellowhammer State home. Williams joins Jayson Jones, Jackson Bratton, Dazalin Worsham, Malachi Moore and Jah-Marien Latham, all who have opted to stay home for college.

Stay tuned for more to come on this commitment.

Hank: "He reminds me a lot of Josh Jacobs."

TS UT boards are saying D Wright did not make it to TTown. Can you confirm? Never really thought we had a shot with his HC.
