Sometimes there is an easier path to playing time but also these are 17-19 YO kids so who knows what is going thru their minds. They are also pulled in a million different directions.

Bama has offered '17 Four Star DT Fred Hansard

Defensive tackle Fred Hansard (Princeton, N.J./Hun School) picked up an offer from Alabama.

It's his 19th verbal offer.

Hansard

Alabama assistant coach Mario Cristobal made the verbal offer.

The Crystal Ball reads 50-percent for Rutgers, 33-percent for Penn State and 17-percent for Michigan.

The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 6 defensive tackle and the No. 2 prospect in New Jersey in the 2017 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.

This is the first year since 2007 where it really does feel like our staff is getting their tails whipped on the recruiting trail. I get that we have enough talent, and a good looking 2017 class next year so we could survive a less than phenomenal 2016 class, but I just keep waiting for us to take off with this class and it feels like we are stuck in neutral. Hopefully Saban, Pruitt and crew really kill it these next couple of weeks because as of right now a very disappointing class by Bama/Saban standards.

After the weekend of the 22nd, I think we land recruits in droves.

*Double facepalm*

I actually like having more scholarships open closer to signing day. It'll be a superb finish.

If we wind up signing Raekwon, I'll be the first to hope he becomes an All-American. He really is an excellent athlete. Hopefully he makes me eat mountains of crow.

Still gonna stand by my real close "second hand" info that we land AJ. Pressure will be on him I know to stay home but think we have excellent shot.

The UF LB that visited this week said it was flat out awesome and when asked if Alabama has a chance to flip him he said "yes"

I'd feel a lot better if he didn't have a Florida visit still coming up. There was a lot more in the interview that was very very positive for bama but I'm on my phone and don't feel like trying to paraphrase parts

Glad the visits went well, would be nice to get an official commitment to turn momentum a bit.

The past few years everyone has complained about how NSD was boring and how we only had a few spots left for so many big time targets. Of the irony.

I actually like we have 11 maybe 12 spots left. I hate seeing a V Bell type of talent go elsewhere because we do not have room. If our staff can close like they normally do we may end with one of the most exciting finishes under Saban yet.

Enjoy the ride.

It's Mid-January, and we have two 5-Star commits & seven 4-Stars. It feels like we are Auburn on a bad year. This class blows arse
