I believe you could be obsessed with this to much.

Absolutely. I don't think that Buchner coming in is a bad thing at all. It makes these guys compete even harder. And if he wins the job, he will have earned it.

Anyone who watched the spring practice should be in support of bringing in some more competition.

I just wish we were actually just bringing in a sure fire transfer starter like Hurts to OU or Williams to SoCal.

On the flip side bringing in a guy like Buchner increases the competition but hopefully doesn't clear out the QB room.

I think it was loyalty to Simpson and Milroe that Saban didn't go out and take a transfer QB in the earlier transfer window. A Spencer Sanders or Walker Howard may have cleared out the QB room. I say that to say I believe Saban is correct to take Buchner at this time. Saban saw a lot of Simpson and Milroe and he's not impressed.

Twitter sources claiming Milroe and Simpson are planning to stay to compete. If true then I’m fired up.

5 scholarship QBs competing for the gig...someone has to step up.

Again if it’s true then that shows we have guys committed to being the best here. That’s a great sign.

If we bring in a QB and nobody peaces out then that's definitely a win. That just means everyone is willing to fight for the job.

Here is a link to highlights from the Notre Dame spring game. Buchner is #12. He looked like shite. Had a pick 6 dropped, a fumble blown dead, and another pick dropped.

The fact that we had some on here wishing the "Bryce Young era" would end... not realizing it wasn't him, it was the idiot coaching him and the other idiot coaching the defense making this top talent look average.... Just..

I feel like we have been beating the same drum.

I agree, either the cream will rise to the top or they all sucked and we were screwed anyway. I believe that someone will rise to the challenge.

yeah I just don't see how Buchner can beat out Simpson or Milroe. But I think we can win all of our games with either one of those two. Buchner ain't it IMO.

That film does not inspire confidence. It is pretty concerning that our coaches thought this was a guy we needed to bring in. GMac on the radio this morning, had the reminder that Saban has previously said that we don't bring in transfers for depth. He brings in guys that he thinks can win playing time. GMac's take was that TB will be QB1 come the first game. Cubelic was the voice of reason I cling to, saying it was gonna be Simpson.

You bring in transfers to fill needs. There isn't a need for QB depth with 4 scholarship players already on the team.

That should tell everyone that Saban doesn't believe he has a QB on the team right now that can win a NC.

These QBs might eventually become good enough, but they are not there right now.

Maybe we will just go back to running the ball 80 times a game with Jase, Roydell, Jam, and Haynes.

but that doesn't really explain bringing in a QB that doesn't appear to be any better than the QBs we have. The thing that makes most sense to me is that Saban brought this kid in just to spice up the competition and make the other guys compete harder.

With an open race, there is no need to spice up the competition.

Why is there a concern over Buchner? Milroe seems to not be worried about it, why are some of y’all?

I am not worried about it at all, I just don't see anything from his film that would indicate that he will win the job. That doesn't mean that I am "concerned" or bothered that we brought him in. Its just an observation. And I suppose I am confused as to what others are seeing that I am not.

That’s the issue. It’s so open and nobody is separating themselves. They need a fire under their asses to get better obviously.
