I agree but as I mentioned above, a lot of these guys in the portal are just average players (by Division I standards). Very few really good ones out there. I think a lot of people (not talking about you) think that really good players are like picking apples off of a tree in the portal but it's simply not true.
There are literally only about 4-5 proven WRs in the portal right now. By proven, I mean they had 40-60 receptions this year.
You hate to say this but you also have to wonder about some (not all) of these guys in the portal if they have a bad attitude, aren't coachable or are lazy. The last thing we need is some guy with a crappy attitude coming in, and I don't care how good he is.

Was looking at DE/DT types in the portal and checked their stats this year. Incredibly slim pickings out there (so far). Not one DE/DT who had even decent stats. Hopefully, more will show in the portal who could help Bama.
I clicked on 247 "top" transfer players and Oatis, (lol) comes up as the top player so far. The next D-lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy is 12th so far. 5 star coming out of HS. https://247sports.com/player/gabriel-brownlow-dindy-46084792/college-275135/
He is from A&M so I figured he knew LT Overton.

Prentice expected to transfer as some already predicted.
I'll never forget watching Prentice being blatantly held by a UGA defender directly in front of a referee on that contentious catch play in the SECCG and thinking that even if it was ruled incomplete, we should still be awarded a first down for defensive holding.

Completely fail to give any effort to block on a screen pass resulting in a pick 6 and loss against OU.
It was one of the lowest effort plays I’ve seen in recent Bama history. Figured when he left the field there was no way he was back next year.

Dane Key and Barion Brown both headed to the portal.

I would too if I was in their shoes. Kentucky is horrible. I remember that we recruited Brown out of high school.

JMO but he gave up about 4 games into this season due to all the success that Williams was having. From that point on it was just half-azz.

We should only consider proven starters at P4 programs
Had we done that previously, we’d have missed out on Jameson Williams and Germie Bernard…

Two good OTs in portal. One is Xavior Gray starting tackle for Liberty (Guy is huge) and GT OT Corey Robinson II who started a number of games.
Robinson (6-foot-5, 305 pounds) played 539 offensive snaps this past season for the Yellow Jackets and was the team’s highest-graded pass blocker. Robinson played in all 12 games this season for Tech. He played 1,648 offensive snaps in three season for the Jackets.

Too soon to say we should be targeting Vandy's starting LT?

Worked with Tyler Steen, who also had 30+ starts at Vandy...and oddly enough both went to St. Thomas Aquinas.

Kismet! And we know Hansen is athletic enough to run DeBoer's scheme.

How did he play against us? Was he good/great? Would he be worth going after?

He was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week and Outland Trophy National Player of the Week for his performance against us, so what do you think?

Where does it say he won it the week they played us? If I knew that would I ask the question? Some guys on here are ridiculous. If you think the question is dumb , don’t answer . It’s not hard.

Sorry man, I didn't mean for that to come off as snippy. I tried to add the laughing emoji to let you know I wasn't trying to be a dick, but I see how my response seemed dick-ish.
Anyway, that info was listed in his Vandy bio, so even though I've mentally blocked out that game, apparently he played pretty well for them!

Dane Key would be a very good pick up.

Some good TEs in the portal today, Luke Hasz from Arkansas and especially Tanner Koziol from Ball State.
I love Cuevas' game, but having another big, experienced inline target wouldn't hurt. Let's Cuevas move around and use his athleticism.
Dippre and Ouzts take a lot of experience and blocking ability with them, Danny Lewis is really the only other guy with "experience".

Guy was having an elite freshman year before he got hurt. Watched very few Hog games this year so don't know if he bounced back.
