This simply isn't true. He had a great game against WKU (7-9 200 yards, 2 TDs) and a great game against Wisconsin on the road (12-17, 196 yards, 3 TDs). He also had 75+ rushing yards and 2 TDs in both games.

He has been the beneficiary of some extremely acrobatic catches from a very talented wide receiver.

That was the UGA game. In the WKU and Wisky games he was facing defenses that could not take away the deep ball nor the did they have personal to shut down Bama's run game. Basically little pressure on Milroe

If teams can get pressure on him and take away deep shots, he panics to the point even easy plays become hard for him.

I don't think Milroe should start Saturday and and now a naysayer, but let's not say stuff that's simply not true.

This is why its hard to reasonably converse about Milroe on this board.

I agree with what you're saying also, but Ryan Williams had 139 yards and 2 touchdowns on 2 receptions against WKU, and 79 yards and a touchdown on 4 receptions against Wisconsin.

Milroe has been underperforming even while having guys like that on the other end of his passes.

The pressure on Jalen (any QB) is always difficult but with all this chatter this week it will be even greater.

For the benefit of The Team, I hope it goes well for him early in this game.

Williams turned two really bad throws in touchdowns

Yep. Milroe is simply not a good quarterback. He has the same negative attributes that hindered him two years ago. After the last two games, no one can objectively argue that he’s better. As a fan, I don’t pay my hard earned money to watch a product like this. Especially when the quarterback has an NIL valuation over $1 million.

I know but I was saying those were not acrobatic catches. Those passes were not luck like his 2 biggest passes against UGA were.

Milroe is not smart QB. He has bad footwork. He panics too easily. He insists on being a pocket passer. He is way too inconsistent.

But if he is playing weaker competition that struggle to make things hard for him, he can beat them with his raw talent. Or in the case of the UGA game, a combination of a fluke performance and them being caught off guard (for 1 half) with the playcalling schemes.

Multiple games of 2 rushing and 2 passing TDs with a high completion percentage and no INTs does not equal "sucking".

"Durrr. some of his throws weren't perfect."

What Milroe did against Tennessee is what sucking looks like. His play up to halftime of UGA was excellent. People who deny that are not worth paying any attention to.

He is great against weaker competition and average to above average defenses he isn’t. It’s simple. We just need a balanced guy. Doesn’t even matter if they can run. Just balance.

Yes. This is accurate. Let's not pretend he sucks against everyone. In the 3 non conference games he's got 8 passing TDs, no INTs, a QB rating of 213 and averages 11.3 yards per pass at a 67% clip. That's good.

In the last 3 games he's got 3 TDs, 5 INTs, a QB rating of 133 and some really, really bad sacks.

Competition level definitely matters. It happened to Tennessee. Their offense was getting rave reviews at the beginning of the season then they started playing real SEC defenses and they look completely different. Milroe has been the same way except for the one half of the UGA game which I've come to think it was because we ran stuff never put on film and caught them off guard. Hence in the second half they shut us down.

The lengths some people will go to in defending this dude is astounding. I feel like the Milroe camps on this board are as bad as democrats and republicans. People are deluded about this guy, and are so biased it’s like they have to taken ownership of his success and make excuses for his failures.

I cannot comprehend it.

You're a 100% correct, and it really is comical to read. Lol

No doubt about it. He is a very talented guy who really should be performing much better than he is. I don't know what he did in the offseason but apparently it wasn't what he needed to be doing.

I think it's unfair to say he's sucked almost the whole time. But he's not a very good QB and will very very likely will never be a consistently great QB.

So yes it's weird some people will defend him as if he's accomplished a great deal. But this board is not anywhere near as bad about it. I don't frequent the other Bama boards, but half the posters on the sub reddit are still fully on board the Milroe train. This board has been called out on there as being too mean to him

Don’t pay any attention to me, but I would not say he was excellent against USF; and yes, I understand how bad the OL was blocking & with penalties. He didn’t suck that game but excellent is a stretch. 14 points through the first 3 quarters vs. USF does not scream excellence.

I don’t think he was defending him. Just agreeing with the fact I said he is better against lesser teams. It’s true for any QB really. He just isn’t the guy to win the big games for us this year. Need the switch and need it immediately.

However, if he only plays against Missouri we have our answer and just be ready to accept it. My guess is we kill Missouri because half their team is out, get over confident and get clapped against LSU.
