On Friday night, WGNO announced that sports producer Mark Deane passed away after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident. According to the Louisiana State Police, Deane was driving a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck from behind. That caused him and the bike to go airborne. WGNO released a statement on this tragedy. As you'd expect, the news station is devastated by this loss...

"This is a picture of Mark Deane, the WGNO sports producer who was killed in a motorcycle crash on the crescent city connection today," WGNO said in a statement. "He was a beloved member of our team and will be sorely missed. This is a true tragedy and we ask for your prayers for Mark, his friends, family and co-workers."

I've had 2 uncles and one cousin killed on motorcycles by drivers simply not paying attention. Our society is no longer "present" and as a whole can't seem to navigate life without paying proper attention.

Too many people texting and driving. Texting is as dangerous if not more than alcohol. Texting is not something I do on the road. It can wait.

Motorcycle riding is dangerous enough outside of Louisiana. Inside Louisiana is just begging for death.

very sad, but riding a bike on roads with cars has serious risks.

That sucks. I’d love to have a motorcycle but not until I am the only person left on earth
