During his press conference on Monday, head coach Brian Kelly was asked about linebacker Harold Perkins and the possibility of him returning to the team next season.

Kelly said that Perkins' ACL recovery is going well and that he has been in the football ops building quite a bit.

As for the possibility of his return next season, here's what he had to say:
quote:

"I don't know that he's made the final decision; I know he's weighing the options," Kelly explained.

"Clearly, we would love to have him back. But we know that those decisions are not easy. We will support him in whatever he decides and provide him with all the resources necessary to make the best decision for him and his family."

He'll probably go, I wouldn't expect him going before the 4th round or even later

I hope he either stays and they move him to a position he can succeed or heads to the NFL. The last thing I want to see is him transfer within the SEC and then ball out.

The problem is Perkins doesn't have a position. He is a tweener and not LSU's fault he isn't physical enough to play LBer and not a good enough cover guy to play safety. Whit Weeks has made the defense much better than when Perkins was in the lineup because WW is much more versatile

The last 3 games Weeks has not shown up. I don’t know if teams are playing away from him or his assignment has changed

I’m not sure Perkins’ 2023 and 2024 seasons suggest he was all that key

At this point, it may be in Perkins' best interest to move forward and seek a fresh opportunity, possibly aiming for a third-round pick. This would allow another player the chance to step up and demonstrate their potential on the field, rather than remaining sidelined.

He wouldn't like being behind Whit.

Whit has been MIA since the Arkansas game. I'm sure nobody position is safe.

He led the team in tackles this week but I understand what you mean. I don’t think it’s him, specifically, but the defense as a whole struggling those three losses.

TFFB, you might want to start watching LSU games or get your eyes checked. Whit Weeks has been all over the field making plays in almost every single game. The announcers keep pointing that out BTW so you might want to get your ears checked too. Your post was incredibly stupid!
