In the early 2000's it was crack, not meth. Don't know about today. But I know for a fact it was a front for a large scale crack cocaine distributor. The guy is dead now so I don't need to keep his secrets, but I had a guy I grew up with, went to cub scouts together etc, who became a frickup and a junkie and worked nights at Little Italy and ended up living a few doors down from me in The Hill apartments. He came home with crack every night around 4 am after he got off work, I'd be leaving to go to class and he'd be up smoking a rock. He said the whole operation was a front for the owner who was a high level rock dealer.
