New regime. Cleaning house. Nothing about this is unusual, and it’s why Trev was hired. Like it or not, we’re all entering a new world of college football, and difficult financial decisions will eventually have to be made across every program in this country.
People scratch their heads wondering why A&M seemingly has the resources, but hasn’t been successful. This is part of that overhaul in changing the way things have been done (keeping employees simply bc they’ve been around for years).
I have zero issue with this.

This. The NFL has a salary cap, but it doesn't limit what Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce make on their sponsorship deal with State Farm. But, as you point out, in college football, those sponsorship deals are driven by booster egos, not by economic decisions.
Mahomes is making peanuts from State Farm compared to what he is making from the NFL.
A scholarship is peanuts compared whatever collective is paying college kids.
Imagine Mahomes not resigning with KC because the KC Ford dealer can't pay as much as what the Denver Land Rover dealer can pay. That's where college athletics is currently.

How is a three year starter at Center not performing?
After his freshman year he wasn't very good. But he played little devious game with his QBs. They gave him the snap count and then he tried to hike the ball up just out of reach over their heads.

Why is A and M trying to shift this to the players fault. Very bad business.

If you still had that $100M Jimbo payout those employees would never have been fired. You and I both know it.

no he's not. He's not even a top D1 shot thrower.
I looked it up. He is currently ranked #64 in the NCAA shot.
He needs to make other plans because the Olympics certainly aren't in his future.

Cutting ties with Qatar could prove to be costly for A&M.

False. A&M athletes about to get PAID an expected total of $20 million per year salary directly from A&M athletic department in addition to their personal NIL.
Just cutting off dead wood in preparation.

I think you're right. Wishing A&M was broke doesn't mean it will happen.
