Question for Ole Miss Fans.

What’s the story behind the light blue helmet Ole Miss use to wear? Wasn’t that Yale Blue and if so why the change to Navy?

I think that it was because the light blue was not one of our school colors. At least thats what I've been told. I would mind wearing them on homecoming or something like that.

No Colonel Reb was 2003. The helmet was in that mid to late 90s.

He means off the helmet. Not off the sidelines.
The powder blue was changed to Navy because it looks a little better aesthetically, and because Ole Miss colors are red, white, and blue; after the state flag.

Well of course everybody has white.
But it's part of the flag, and therefore somewhat relevant. State just has maroon.
They like to claim maroon and white, though.

I'm glad they went back to the old pants. Now I wish they would bring the stripes all the way around the shoulder like they used to.

I can't figure out why anyone would prefer half-stripes over full ones.

False. Those helmets first came to be in the late 1960's. Whoever the helmets were ordered from screwed up the color and Vaught thought it a waste of time and money to send them back. So the used them. They were used from then up until the Billy Brewer years of the early 90's.

Thank God Nutt put the names back on the jerseys.
Did anyone else notice that Nutt made the cursive Ole Miss on the chest of the jerseys about twice as large as O had it?

I'd like to see the old Ole Miss uniforms make a come back this season. Hopefully during the UM/LSU game in Oxford this year.

I'm old enoungh to remember the light blue unis, I think it was best that you guys went with dark blue.

When did we have light blue unis? I know we had light blue helmets.
