A&M has more than double the endowment of any school in the SEC and 5X any other public school. We are older, larger, and have a larger research spend than Texas. We are a designated Flagship by the State of Texas. Just stop it with that crap.

Texas has a larger endowment, a better overall football history, and a very small advantage in academic ranking. That's about it.

A&M is also Top 15 in wins, has 21 Conference Titles, and 3 NC's. There are certainly schools in the SEC that can boast more than that but we sure as hell aren't Moo State.

shite like this is why I pre-judge most texans as bags of douche.

The notion that the SEC needed anybody is funny. Either way, you Ags seem like decent folks and it was a good addition.

There would be no SEC network without Texas A&M.

The Aggies would have been invited to join any conference they wanted to be in.

All it boils down to is Texas A&M was a good investment. A&M has had periods of great success, in between longer periods of meh.

Texas A&M was doing less, with more, than anyone in the country. The SEC gave the boost A&M needed to differentiate itself, and in turn become very profitable for the conference.

It's win-win-win. The third win is because frick texas and the little 12.

I'm sure there would've eventually been one. It wouldn't bother me if there never was one though.

I'm sure they would have. It would not have affected the SEC was my point. It validated A&M, not the other way around.

First of all, awesome Bubbles AVI. Trailer Park Boys is the best.

Second, It didn't affect general perception of the SEC as much as it affected TV sets. Houston is #3 largest city in USA. Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin are all huge as well.

Third, the SEC affects A&M more right now, but as A&M becomes a power ( as it will, because the SEC and ESPN are invested in it working) it will help the SEC more than you think.

There would certainly be an SEC Network without A&M, but it would have been worth about 60-70% as much...

Sorry, but SEC Network was being organized in 2004. Know. Was there.

Agree, Trailer Park Boys is fricking awesome.

I get the tv market angle and all that. I also agree that it will eventually do a lot for the conference. I wasn't making a dig, just saying it didn't matter to me. And I also agree that A&M is a solid add, even with the Texas attitudes.

September 14, 2013 is going to be an awful slap to reality for Bama fans - Bama will never beat JFF.

Texas A&M is the flagship university of the SEC.

More money is irrelevant.
As for rating, Vandy, Florida and Georgia are all higher rated.
As for size, Florida has a larger enrollment.

*tsk* Bragging about being the biggest when they're not. That's just sad.

and more respected in the job Market than any other school in the conference.

As a hiring manager, I can promise you most people don'y give a FLIP where your degree comes from unless it's in the top 20 schools. Seriously, unless you're sportin' Vandy, Duke, MIT or an Ivy League school on there, it's pretty irrelevant. That might get *some* pull in Texas, but that's more likely because the hiring person is an A&M grad, not because there's some magical property attached to it.

Keep letting all those immigrants in, who have already dragged your high school graduation rates down, and come back to us in 5 years. And your 49th ranking in per-pupil spending, despite being so "rich" a state, is pathetic.

There's already been full research given to the flagship university of each state.

A&M didn't make the cut.
