Heya- some folks and I are planning a trip to your beautiful KY in the summer. We know we want to hit some distilleries Buffalo Trace if possible and maybe others.

Tell me your thoughts on where and what to do, please and thank you.

Just go where Pio says not to go. You'll have a great time.

Bourbon trail maybe? I live 5 miles from Buffalo Trace. Lots of beautiful horse farms around. Kentucky horse park is nearby.

I would suggest posting this also on the travel board. More will see it there.

And don't bring pio.

Edit: lots of state parks with hiking, caving, etc. Louisville has 4th street live, Ali museum and BluegrassBelle.

A guided cave tour at Mammoth Cave is a memorable experience if you're into that sort of thing, and there are differing variations (routes, sights) depending on time allotted and any physical considerations of your group.

I think we are all wanting that. As far as outdoorsy stuff there’s 2 that are somewhat and 2 that are not at all. I think the caves that you and wasp both mentioned sounds really cool to me. I will be looking into that.

Thanks for the reply- and good ide- I will probably post a thread on the travel board at some point too!

kywildcatfanone every time I think of Louisville I kick myself. AC/DC had a concert at the Kentucky Expo Center. My hotel was right across the street and I forgot about that concert till they mentioned it on the news that night. Still makes me sick I forgot and didn't go see them. That was the only night they were there.

Yeah, that would have been fun. The Expo Center was a pretty good venue for concerts.

Louisville Slugger museum in Louisville is pretty sweet.

Here in Lexington we've got plenty of bourbon and craft beer. Nice dining options as well. I can recommend whatever yall are interested in.

Seriously, it's nice to just ride around the horse farms and rural area outside Lexington. It's absolutely picturesque and gorgeous.

Had some friends that toured Makers Mark. Found a link to some of the distillery tours. Some of them are expensive.
