I agree. I voiced my concerns on this site about “processing” before it began. This wasn’t good. With that said, the coaches I’m sure thought through all this. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt.

My issue with the so-called 'processing' is that we were too kind with it. Nice people get gut punched and taken advantage of.

By playing nice and giving the 'processed' (yes, incorrect use of term) recruits time to find a landing spot we also created space/time for other schools and some recruits to use against us.

We should have been more ruthless and processed only after the primary targets had signed.

The real risk Orgeron took was this playing nice. Everybody has a board and priorities, always have, always will. I keep saying people talking about taking the high road. Well, this is the high road. Look what it got us:

1. A pretty damn good class
2. But that niceness was repaid with vindictiveness

Yes- I know. Very mean. Like Jarrett and many before him have said- it's a business decision. #respectourprocess. Next time, take the low road and have a #1 class.

(doesn't apply in ALL cases; you make exceptions for the in-state kids and the ones that put in the most work... but everybody else... sorry man, it's just business)

ETA: for god's sake, we had linemen decommitting from Texas and no committable offer from LSU griping about us telling recruits to look around. No, we weren't the only school that did that. We should've waited till signing day so we didn't stand out and make ourselves a target.
