Hoosiers would be Indiana fans, not Notre Dame fans.
Unlike UNC, North Carolina, and tarheels, IU has never managed to completely co-opt the name for the locals. Remember, they even named a movie about high school basketball "Hoosiers" and it wasn't a reference to where the main character went for college.

Tarheels and Vols have better marketing departments.
