Ditto'ing what's been said, but there's more to it than two road losses. I remember after the embarrassment that was the Memphis game last year, half our fans thought we'd lose out. I remained positive, had faith adjustments would be made defensively, and that we'd play better. We did...kinda, but there were still some glaring issues that were not addressed. Fast forward and now we've lost momentum and it appears our players have given up. All those issues that were hidden by the razzle dazzle offense last year have gotten worse (scheming and talent wise). No offense in the country can make up for our lack of defense. We haven't developed a single person like Prewitt on the defensive side of the ball, and our super talented guys like Nkem, Ward, etc never played to their potential under these coaches.

We laugh at how Prescott could have won championships at another school, but we've also let a lot of talent go to waste over the past few years. We had an NFL offensive lineman on the squad that we all said should ride the bench due to poor play. Luckily the scouts recognized his potential and gave him a shot. Luke has a lot of talent to play with right now, yet somehow we are last in rushing and Chad hasn't had time to go through a single progression the past few games without worrying about getting knocked the frick out. Right now everyone is focusing on Wommack, but remember Luke had as many, if not more topics calling for his head the past few years. Hell, our defense wouldn't look so bad if we could get it linemen to give our RB's even a little bit of a hole to work with. If we're going to do this thing, let's do it the right way and clean sweep it.

Our lack of SEC caliber coaches on both sides of the ball is appalling. We have some amazing recruiters, but they can't coach the talent they bring in and way over their head trying to get these kids to compete in the toughest division in football. We will not compete consistently with this staff. That's it, and it's the cold hard truth.

I'm drinking tonight, and I know I never even got to the point I was trying to make when I started this topic. I'm just ranting, and I'll probably continue to rant for the rest of the night until I run out of booze. I apologize in advance.

My biggest fear for this program is that Freeze doesn't fire anyone after the season. Regardless of whether or not we win a few games here and there, the fact remains that we have a coaching staff that worked great to bring Ole Miss to where it is now, the transition to middle of the pack and competing, now we need SEC caliber coordinators and position coaches.

I think someone on Nafoom said this, but if there was ever a time in the season to fire a DC it is now. most schools run into the problem that these coaches have relationships with committed recruits, we have the luxury that Wommack does not. It would be to our advantage to look now for someone who can recruit, and have them ready.
