there is an HD highlight film of him that i just watched...that kid can fkn move. Qb skills? who knows, but he is every bit as shifty as Nick Marshall, and probably a little faster

If he is, we will be more like 2013's offense without Mason. We don't have a RB on his level. Plus the upgrade in WRs won't make much difference.

ETA:We also lack a quality FB like Prosch.

Yeah this makes no sense to me. How do guys drop this late in the year right before signing day?

Because sites are run by folks with bias and if kids go places they don't like, they drop them

Really though you can't trust any of those sites. One of the recruiting guys in 247 admitted that they adjust rankings based on what school a kid commits to.... Makes no sense

couldnt disagree more. Mason was good, but JR is just as talented...and dont undersell our two FBs. They both did a great job last year in their first year action.

Yeah I don't buy the notion that Mason was that much more talented than any RB on our roster. He was quick to hit a hole and gain six but I think you can put Jovon in that role and get the same result.

Prosch was great and I get that point

Derrick Brown just comes off as kind of a weak minded individual to me. From the stuff on twitter where a uga fan harassing him made him drop them from #1 on his list, to the looking like a 2 year old who didnt get his way the entire basketball game on his visit..etc.

Call it sour grapes all you want but I just don't see him making a huge impact at AU. His highlight tape is him bullrushing 6'1 220 lbs. guards in 5A, which believe me, is a huge step down from 6A. He was dominated his final HS game against Northgate and in the Army game.

Excited to see what Carter, Clark, Rochester, and Marshall can do. All seem like blue collar, bring it everyday type of guys

UGA melts like Velveeta

JR hasn't proven he can stay healthy and handle the amount of carries like Mason did. It doesn't matter how good he is if he stays hurt. Outside of him we don't have an every down back. As far as the FBs, neither one had their names mentioned for their blocks. Prosch was mentioned every drive.

This time last year when we led for Rochester and Brown was a UGA lock - the UGA folks liked to tell us Brown was better and that Rochester was soft and didn't have the drive necessary to be a dominant SEC DT.

Now that they missed on him they notice that he had a bad game once in HS

I get why they're upset and it sucks but the level of delusion they're selling over there is beautiful.

To go with that. We arguably have the top WR Corp class too. It was mentioned on ESPNU at least.

D got some much needed studs. Offense did the same.

I am 100% happy with how the class turned out and can't wait for the season to start!

Rochester has actually been described by virtually everybody as the exact opposite.

except when they did, like in the Memphis game when he put the defender on his arse and Jason Smith walked into the endzone untouched.

And why do you think Mason was all world running back? He was good at squeezing through small windows and breaking 10-15 yard runs....which is exactly what JR is good at.

So now that the faxes are in, can we fire Garner?

LOL. I had a guy at my place tonight that mentors Derrick Brown. He said he was a very good kid. It was good to hear that coming from someone I know..

Mason was better than any back we have had in the past 10 years. He was very quick, tough and could break out in the open.

We have not had a back like that since 2004.

Because Mason had vision, speed, and power but he was also durable enough to carry it 50 times in a game. Few backs have all that and if they do half stay hurt. JR is closer to CAP than Mason. Barber was more like Mason but not as good.

Dude, no. Barber had the worst vision ever. He wasn't very quick either. Those two things were Mason's biggest strengths.

I said not as good. I was talking about style. JR would be about like CAP in 2013 was with Marshall.
