To some people one divisional title in football 16 year ago > national titles and conference titles won in the 60's

That is crazy to me. I realize Ole Miss has never been to ATL, but getting there and losing doesn't mean anything. I guess you have bragging rights in your division for a year, but nothing more.

I'll take the recent success and things I was actually alive for 10 times out of 10.

Anyhow, to answer the OP: Yes, when you play in the SEC West (as of the past decade) a division title is definitely meaningful.
