Unbiased???

If you are on the heels of of your 3rd national championship in four years, all during the most competitive era of college football ever (recruiting restrictions, etc...), and have a history that includes 15 national championships and 23 SEC titles, it's just stating facts.

Regardless of what "count" you go by for our titles, the first name on the list is, Alabama.

I hate the Yankees and the Lakers, but if I'm looking for a proverbial "Gold Standard," I'd still probably pick them for their sustained success through decades of competitive play.

You are missing the point. There is no such thing as an unbiased Gump. You'd be better off looking for a Justin Beiber song that didn't suck or a mermaid riding a unicorn.
