I figured this topic would garner this type of response. To play devil's advocate think about how many bad things people associate with the name ole miss just over your lifetime(I don't know how old you are so I assume close to my age). Rebranding would provide a fresh image.


behop wasn't suggesting doing away with the name completely at all anyway. He merely suggested taking a stronger grasp on Mississippi as a brand. Our head coach has reiterated using THE university of Mississippi in many speeches already so it's not a far fetched idea.

Ok let's be OLE MISS and everything that comes with it and when somebody refers to us as Mississippi just be like ... yep that's right we are THE Unvirsity of Mississippi.


Best of both worlds continue to play up OM while owning the other witout trying to shy away from it.

"Mississippi" is even more negative in my opinion.
