Post Pic of self to be able to post??

I was told that all new posters must post a picture within the first 5 posts of themselves. Semi-nude if girl or face perm ban by the mods. He said he didn't make the rules, just relay them. Is that true? I don't feel comfortable doing that. I am wanting to talk sports not have to show myself to do so.
