Wasn't there a big to do last year about runners running to the inside of the line being runner interference? i seem to remember that even one step on the inside of the line was illegal but seldom enforced. Meaning the runner has to stay on the outside of the line when running to first. Seems like they burned us last year with that.

But the play. Firstbaseman should have given a bigger target to the outside, he just sqatted there on first. Its a difficult play already for the catcher. But terrible throw, no way firstbaseman could catch it, weight was shifted the other way.

The runner need to actually interfere with the catch. Simply being where he was doesn’t get you called out. I’m pretty sure we would have been better off if Milazzo hit the runner with the ball.
