I’m black and overweight. I stuck out like a sore thumb when I visited Sweden. I’m shedding serious weight before I go back next year. It was embarrassing.

Health and fitness aren't taken as seriously in the black community. We also have disproportionate rates of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
Too many of us eat terribly and don't exercise.
