Doesn’t surprise me at all that they are the best at wrapping their hands around hard wood.

I never realized until now how important trees are to the ecosystem. Thank you, Abdul Akbar!

It's a university that believes in magic rings. Not sure why encouraging this kind of behavior is surprising.

All toilet paper and YellaWood jokes aside, how in the heck did he hug a tree every 3.2 seconds for an hour?

I wonder what constitutes a "hug?"

That would be really hard to do when including time spent moving to the next one, unless they are regularly spaced, which they don't necessarily appear to be.

Alabama Ring Ceremony

quote:

The Ring Ceremony, a UA tradition held each spring, is a special two-part ceremony that begins at Denny Chimes. UA students and alumni who order official class rings and choose to participate in the ceremony will first have their rings placed in the 115-foot tall, 92-year-old bell tower for 24 hours.

After I spent years on here making fun of them for this, someone at Alabama thought it would be a good idea to copy.

It’s the stupidest fricking thing I’ve ever seen the University of Alabama do. And we hired Mike DuBose one time.

Both ring ceremonies are relatively new…probably less than 25 years. They didn’t have that when I was there.
