It seems like if you want to win these days, you better do both.

Good luck though.

Brian Kelly: "It's hasn't fared very well quite frankly because we are selling something a little bit differently... We are not in the market of buying players."

That’s easy for him to say because he is set for life financially, no worries.

I’d imagine the boosters and fanbase might feel differently. They will be the ones stuck with his product when he takes his buyout.

That's admirable but he won't find any top recruits not looking
to get paid.

Were the defensive tackles they were trying to get "top recruits" or just the best of what's left?

I'm OK with not paying for a dude that had like 2 tackles against ranked opponents last year. If someone else wants to overpay, let them.

Saban said Alabama didn't offer NIL deals to its recruits.

"We were second in recruiting last year," he said. "A&M was first. A&M bought every player on their team. Made a deal for name, image and likeness. We didn’t buy one player. But I don’t know if we’re going to be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it."
Interesting… BK says they aren’t buying players and Alabama fans pose the question “is he retarded?”

Interesting.

Alabama fans stroked his cock for this statement, too.

Apparently Saban didn’t have to buy his players. His type of thinking isn’t going to work anymore. Probably why he left.

One of the last of a dying breed.

That's been a big part of Missouri's NIL strategy, buying late rounders back out of the draft. It doesn't take a whole lo do it and it's adding an NFL player to your CFB roster.

What?

Oh bullshite, he was too passive during the first portal period and it bit him in the arse. Barrow and Williams were definitely overpaid but LSU would've paid it in a heartbeat if they had the money...they don't.

Now, instead of LSU fans rightly criticizing him, y'all are buying this bullshite

He is telling everyone they are broke, without actually saying it. Someone better call the book keeping department at the children’s Hospital and have them to check their accounts.

You created an entire scenario based on nothing more than your own opinions and are now insisting that LSU fans should be angry because of your fake scenario.

That is peak Rantard activity.

Let me explain for the retards I guess.

Anyone on our team who is rated a late round pick 5-7, but still has eligibility left, we offer them NIL over what they'd get paid in the NFL. I think they have all mostly stayed.

Agree with everything he said... Just doesn't seem smart to some to say it. You have to attract certain mentalities and attitudes to win. Looks like he's just weeding out undesirable mindsets

Bahahahahahaha....

LSU fans, do you still want BK over Heupel?

I would be absolutely LIVID right now if Heupel said this kind BS and really believed it.

BK will be gone in three years tops. Bookmark this.

His defenses have always been soft as baby shite and he has the audacity to say this?

Your defense is putrid. You better buy yourself a dline immediately.

His comments are being taken out of context, as usual by this board.

He's simply saying they don't want guys who are just about money:

quote:

"We were in the market in recruiting in the transfer portal, looking for defensive linemen," Kelly said, according to WAFB's 9 Jacques Doucet. "It hasn't fared very well, quite frankly. Because we're selling something a little differently and that is: We want to recruit, we want to engage, build relationships, develop, retain, and have success.
"We're not in the market of buying players. And unfortunately, right now, that's what some guys are looking for. They want to be bought."

quote:

"If you're just looking to get paid, you're looking in the wrong place," Kelly said.

"Money first" guys never work, look at A&M's "best class ever."

Cope. Your defense will be a wet rag as long as he's there and your entire team will lack real physicality.

And to make matters worse for you, JD's Heisman didn't do absolutely nothing besides buy him an extra year or two of delicious misery from LSU fans when reality slaps them in the face this year.
