And it wasn't just VN and Civil Rights. The exact same period of time included the wild drug craze and the sexual revolution (the pill became common). You also had the welfare explosion from LBJ's 1964 bills. Also, the divorce rate spiked due to 'no fault' grounds. Add the nuclear war standoff with the USSR and a lot of college friends of mine openly stated: 'The world is gonna end soon. We might as well have a good time now.'

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to compare the two side by side like it was a legit comparison. I’m saying I can see these kids these days just wanting to get behind something.
I know the civil rights and Vietnam were much more important than what the protests are about today. There were literal American issues.
I was just making a statement regarding the actions on the campuses today, and the kids thinking this is the fight they want to have.
I hope that cleared that up enough.
