If you want another pet go to the shelter and get another one ASAP. Or take a break. Pets are a lot of work.

This is going to be the struggle. I miss the genuine, unspoken companionship and the connection the kids develop with the dog, but I am curious what life is like without the responsibility for a little while. Idk, I doubt I last a year.
