Bears o line was much better than Fields made them look

It was a terrible OL for the first couple of years of Fields’s tenure, and then still bad/below average for most of last year because they dealt with a lot of injuries and had Lucas Patrick at center. But they’ve replaced Patrick, should presumably be healthy, and a guy like Darnell Wright should also be even better this year since he was just a rookie last year (and he was still pretty good last year, especially for a rookie). It should at worst be about a league average OL this year.

It’s pretty amazing: the Bears have a top-5 WR room (possibly the best), a top-10 TE room, a solid RB group, and an average OL. Plus a defense that’s been playing at a high level since the Sweat trade. It’s about night-and-day for Caleb from the situation Fields entered. If Caleb fails, he has no one to blame but himself, no excuses at all. Unprecedented situation for a #1 overall pick to enter.

Everything this guy just said. The Bears D is legit good. Offensive weapons all over the field. If Williams fails this is on him.
