Hmmmmm, I can see the aspect of adding a much-hated purportedly national power like Notre Dame would make for some much publicized regular season SEC games if they were admitted to the SEC. Lots of hype and TV ratings would come with a Bama vs ND regular season SEC contest. That could be fun.
However, the historical regional aspect of the conference would be further watered down. Auburn has already lost regular contests with LSU, Miss State, etc…that provided many classic games and lifetime memories for students and fans. If ND was admitted that would put those games on a further out rotational basis, so,…..NO to Notre Dame.
Additionally, I like the idea of in-state rivals being in the SEC; Florida-FSU and Clemson-USC should be in-conference games. So teams like this should be included before Notre Dame.

I feel like the good old days are long gone and are never coming back.
I feel like it’s better to just embrace the change and get to the end goal as quickly as possible so we can get out from this in between model we’ve been living in.
Two leagues of 24 teams. NFL type model with playoffs based on results (no committees). And as long as everyone gets to keep their 2-3 biggest rivals annually, this model will be the best for the game.
