If it's true you should have a big list of coaches who threw in their backup QB's when things weren't going good in the national championship game.

Nice try, but I don’t need one other example to support my take because…..

1. Coach's dont like to bench proven qbs.
2. Most coaches don’t have a talented backup qb worthy of replacing a proven starter.
3. Very few teams are in a similar halftime situation of that magnitude.

Saban wouldn’t have done it in a regular season game. Saban wouldn’t have done it if the backup sucked.
