A national title game is much bigger than a regular season game against AU.

It just is, and here you are trying to argue otherwise. That is the best evidence of DUMB ITT.

Everyone knows the bigger the game, the less likely you are to do such a thing.

That's what made it such a big deal and why people were shocked by it. If it hadn't been successful, people would be talking about what a dumb move it was to thrust a backup QB with hardly any real playing time outside mop up garbage time into such a high stakes game.

Hell, I remember when Richt tried it in a regular season game against Alabama, it didn't work and he got scorched for doing such a thing in a big game.

You are just saying the crap you are because it worked out, not because you have any fricking clue(apparently) on why people don't do that shite in high profile games.

Show me all the other times coaches did something like that on purpose in a national championship game.

Of course you got it completely arse backwards:

The bigger the game, the more desperate the coach becomes.

Why? Its do or die. No mulligans after the final game of the season.

Saban wasn’t desperate against AU, and he kept the struggling qb in.

Saban was desperate against UGA, and he finally grew the balls to bench him.
