With the advent of embedded YouTube and Twitter/X content on the forums, we wanted to give users some control on how they appear. On the Account Setttings page, you will see an option for Embedded media in the Content Settings section:

"Show All embeds" is the default.

With the "Show in OP only" option, only an embed attempt in the first post of a thread will display. All other embed attempts in the thread will link to YouTube/Twitter.

With the "Show as links" option, all embed attempts in the thread will link to YouTube/Twitter.

This is brilliant, especially for those who primarily want news threads followed by discussion.

So be prepared to be inundated with complaints by people who can't figure out that this option exists, despite being told that it does, and explicitly being shown how to enable it.
