Gary Danielson
Yes, everyone on here hates him because he is blunt (modern day Howard Cosell) but he is a great student of football and he knows his stuff. It is obvious that he takes a great deal time studying the teams that he is covering.
When your team is sucking he calls it like it is and does not sugarcoat it. Which today is actually refreshing.
I for one am going to miss the superb CBS broadcast which are night and day better than anyone else.
And even when State was on and I would cringe when he would call us out for playing like crap, I knew he was being truthful.
SEC royally fricked it up when they did not keep the CBS deal.

If CBS had made the SEC the same TV offer as the B1G we would still have the SEC on CBS. As Danielson and Brad stated very clearly during the SECCG, they, meaning CBS, will not see the likes of this conference again. They knew it was the greatest show on turf. CBS's loss is ABC/ESPN's gain. I'm more than ready for the change.

The problem isn't his knowledge of X's and O's, it's that he won't stick to that. He will start speculating when someone gets hurt with no medical knowledge at all. Worse, he will start opining about a penalty that either was or wasn't called and keep talking about it for multiple plays later. He'll even have his rules expert explain that he's wrong and STILL keep talking about it. In the 2012 SECG Aaron Murray threw a pick, was trotting toward the guy with the ball and got clobbered by a LB. Danielson thought is was "unnecessary roughness to the QB" was wrong to start with but he kept talking about for the rest of the game, bringing it up every time Murray made a bad play, "he might be injured".
My favorites are Blacklege, Cubelic, and McElroy but really it's just anybody but Danielson. Good riddance. Thanks for letting me rant.
