Kirby was not considered a top 2 coach in 2016. Saban was probably not considered a top 2 coach in 2007. DeBoer is considered a top 2 coach in 2024

Kirby had never been a head coach before Georgia. Meanwhile Deboer just got his team with less talent than Alabama to be the runner up National Champions.
This isn’t Deboer’s first head coaching job, he has a great P5 track record.
Saban only wasn’t considered top 2 in 2007 because Steve Spurrier, Urban Meyer, Mack Brown, Jim Tressel, and Bobby Bowden were all coaching. It was known that Saban was going to win a National Championship. He had already done it at a lesser school

Hendon Hooker and Jalin Hyatt were the reasons gump. Hyatt made your NFL secondary look stuck in mud play after play.

Exactly.

No excuse to lose more than 1 regular season game this year.

Debo went went to the CFP via the clown-arse PAC-12. He's not the 2nd best coach.

Golding's dumbass continued to allow Hyatt to be one on one with a safety. It wasn't a player issue, it was a coaching issue.

The MAJOR difference is that Deb is walking into what might be the best ever roster situation for a 1st time coach. He doesn't have the same excuses Kirby and Saban did. 10 wins for Bama in 24 would be okay at best, and certainly NOT a very good sign.

Georgia was not lacking for talent when Kirby was hired.

Maybe you forgot, but there were roster holes were all over the place at UGA in 2016.

Georgia needed an impartial refereeing crew. And for once they got one

Bama will long be remembered for looking like fools in the first half of the playoff game and choking big time at the end of the game. What a way for Saban to go out.
He will always be remembered for quiting because other teams were allowed to pay players and not just him.

You seem so high strung and unhappy. I know Brother Freeze could recommend a massage parlor where you could relax and find happiness at the end.

He may succeed but the first year won't be pretty. Also he had a generational QB in Phenix at QB to work with. That can always make any coach look elite.

This "generational quarterback" bullshite needs to stop. Every season there's a so called generational quarterback.

Big frickin' deal, guys like Penix and that pussy Dallas Turner taught some manners to are a dime a dozen these days. shite man, I just saw some bullshite On3 graphic that had Jalen Milroe the number 4 quarterback in the country. Well if he wins the Heisman, are you calling him generational too?

Truth be told, the last real generational quarterback this sport saw was Tim Tebow.
