Zulu Wars = British in Africa
Not sure if that's the same timeframe because I really don't know history all that well, but was that when Baden-Powell got the impetus for the Boy Scouts?
Seem to recall it had something to do with the Zulu and the Boer War, and he was obviously a British Army officer.
I might be confusing multiple things lol.

Zulu and the Boer War
Zulu war was with Zulu's
Boer war was with the Dutch
History seems to be coming full circle on the Zulu war
Back story if my memory is working ...
DeBeer's controlled the world diamond market and used armies around the world to protect it. They were a privately held company with no standing army. They were not even based in Britain or the UK. When Africa was wanting self rule - basically countries based on resources controlled by a dictator and individual countries were asserting power.
Zulu's were basically using the same spears and shields made out of animal skin (way outdated weapons of war) to fight the British Army who had guns and artillery. I think there were 3 Zulu War's and the first was utter defeat for the British as tribal Zulu's over ran and killed the British. Eventually the British won but it took time and resources with no financial support from DeBeer's.
The utter defeat damaged the reputation of the British Army going forward, along with financial ruin. To add insult to injury, DeBeer's did not move to HQ in the UK. Lesson should have been learned then about not using a government to protect a corporation.
