the Opium Wars

Have no idea what the OP was about, but I listened to a podcast on this within the past year or so, and that's sort of an insane footnote of history, that the British (militarily) forced the Chinese to legalize, import, and essentially deal their drugs, keeping that populace addicted.

There is certainly no love lost on my part regarding China, and of course there's always more to the story, but at least on the surface that's pretty messed up.

(Might need Arksulli to set me straight if I'm getting something wrong.)

British in China

Black Hole of Calcutta = British in India

Zulu Wars = British in Africa

Little Black Sambo is not PC anymore because African - Americans seem to assume Sambo is from Africa (he is actually dot Indian, not Feather).

Harems and concubines was the OP

But then clicking on a few historical accounts of them, the Ming treatment of them was straight out Satanic

Eta: so as far as the opium wars point I made, I wonder if if was British historians making shite up to make china look bad because of the satanic shite britain did to china centuries later
