Yeah, most schools don’t make money off basketball so the ncaa should pay for their travel, imo.

Heaven knows they’ve got plenty of money.

It's an NCAA Invitational. I don't think any school, ever, has paid to attend.

When you hear money totals for the NCAA, it's referring to all the schools of the NCAA, not the organization itself. They aren't making and pocketing billions of dollars every year, that's what the schools are getting.

Just like when they say the NCAA spends like $3.2 billion per year on scholarships, they are also referring to all the schools who give out scholarships for sports, not the actual NCAA organization.

When it comes to basketball, I don't know the details, but the tourney money goes through the NCAA and then gets distributed to the teams. The NCAA keeps a "small portion" of it to fund itself. In FBS football, they aren't involved at all, but it still counts in that total.

Basically, the NCAA = the schools in that context.
