Certainly, I don’t mean to say that Cardwell was a starter. But Jwill is a 3 or a 4 not a true 5. The key to winning most tournaments is have some flexibility and depth. I can’t remember the last time seeing Broome and Cardwell play together? Maybe it just didn’t work? But say against Yale, you have Wolf guarding Broome who did they have to guard Cardwell? Spread them out and give it to Broome to work it down and then Cardwell to get open on the other side of the basket, just seems like a damn good option? Now if the other team has multiple guys that can guard both Broome and Cardwell,I get it don’t do it. But Yale was very limited, if Wolf had been in foul trouble earlier than even Auburn playing poorly we would have likely won easily.

ETA: this has been how Bruce did the roster in the past also as far as I can remember. Sticking to the one game plan. Just like a lot of subbing.

A lot of subbing is fantastic if you have a lot of guys playing well, but if you get a couple players hot or someone playing terrible then continuing to sub and hurting your team makes no sense.
