One of the few times you can point to an attack almost going off the rails because it was too successful.

The Marines and their armored support, the Tiger Brigade from 2nd Armored, were supposed to attack Iraqi positions in Kuwait with the goal of drawing the Republican Guard units into position to be enveloped by the infamous "Left Hook" armored assault. Instead they were so successful that the Iraqis started to pull out of Kuwait and the attack the left flank had to be moved up in order to keep the Iraqis from escaping.

The Marines and the Tigers weren't notably upset about their success it should be said.

I remember that one. I was there with the artillery (10th Marines).

The mother of all battles was in reality, the mother of all surrenders and thank God for the Air Force!
