I believe that Warrant has to be at least in the top three here.
Where would RATT land in all of this? They were amazing, but not sure if they would land in the "trash" category. Think we need a taxonomy here of what falls into "trash" vs. "non-trash".

“Trash metal” is hardly more than a hook to draw in readers. You can appreciate that, Harry. And honestly, Tesla is hard rock, not metal. I don’t exactly know how I draw the distinction — I’m a musical illiterate — but it’s real.
That said, if you have SiriusXM, channel 39, Hair Nation, will give you the idea. For example, last night, “Miles Away” by Winger was on repeat in my car. That’s some deep shite about how a man’s world can turn, leaving you in a locked loneliness without your lady.
P.S. But *if* heavy metal is real, then I am sure that there *must* be trash metal. You know, *bad* metal.
P.P.S. Liquid Metal, in the low 40’s on Sirius, seems as if it is metal. It’s a bunch of bands with names like Akhenaten doing songs titled “Bride Burial IV (Slivers of the Moon).”

WTH. Quiet Riot is harder than those weak assess. I mean, I do consider Iron Maiden borderline there, so, that's my perspective.

Brother, here's my bi-polar stance regarding rock music, from when I was little and taught right by my big brother, up until whenever:
late 70's ZZTop and Van Halen, love them...80's ZZTop and Van Halen, can't stand them.
The Eagles, love, love, love.
80's U2, love them and always will, not afraid to admit it to the crowdsourcing fake idiots - Bono wants peace in the world? Good! I don't know everything he believes beyond that, and I don't give a shite.
Ozzy's Black Sabbath, love, Dio's Black Sabbath, GTFO. Screw Dio.
Led Zep, Lynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Allman Bros, Pink Floyd, The Doors...love, love, love forever
Nirvana, love, Pearl Jam, love, Soundgarden, Stones, love
Tool, love. Musical geniuses. Don't like every lyric, but that's the outlier. System of a Down, love. Musical geniuses.
I'm not a fake who pretends like I knew who the hell Mudhoney was in the late 80's, but I do like them alot after learning their influence on Nirvana and hearing their music
I'm still discovering shite I love from before I was born or when I was sucking on a bottle. Pentangle. Gene Clark's solo stuff, infinity.
Tesla, like, GNR, like,
Blind Melon, love. Bush, really like. Black Crowes, love, love, love. CCR, love.
Old arse Blackfoot to "new" Chevelle. Really like.
Hated with a passion as a kid and always will: KISS, Cheap Trick, Bon Jovi
whoever I forgot in all catagories of love or hate

When I used to DJ, these sexy little girls would come up and request songs. I would make em come dance to next to the dj booth to that one.

Hey man, old Harry Rex has been the only white boy in Magic City strip club in Atlanta, and the only white boy in some "all black" churches in Memphis

In Memphis there was a band called Tora Tora. They were a trash metal band probably but very good local one. Harry might remember them esp. if he was near DeSoto County.
My favorite from that era when metal/hard rock began to mix into grunge was Extreme. I always felt they got screwed the most with that transition. Very talented.
