You are correct, but there is also a reason why
Mulkey and Johnson have comparable salaries to coordinators in the SEC, and some players. Football is king, and before Saban our football was floundering. When we destroyed OU in the Natty, it changed the way the entire media saw the SEC. That would not have happened without Saban.
