I've posted before that these insider memoirs say little about other Apple insiders. Ellis is something of an exception to that, as he does go into a few paragraphs on Peter Brown. They apparently didn't like each other, though the veddy British Ellis is reluctant to say that outright. FWIW Ellis & Brown were at Brian's country home the day he died in London. They were to be guests at a rentboy party Brian never made it to.
This book is very light on Beatle music, heavier on Brian gossip, and VERY heavy on business details. If you're dying to know more about the Northern Songs stock deal, this is for you. If not, even the most maniacal Beatlemaniac can skip it w/a clear conscience.
It is definitely true that you have to piece the cast of characters together, as they all love to be their own center of attention.
