This is hilarious coming from Auburn…. Nobody is going after him, less than a year ago you were turned down by him.

Kiffin is on record as saying you don’t want to be the guy that follows Saban. You want to be the guy that follows the guy that followed Saban.
Of course he did. What coach currently employed at a SEC school would outright say, “Yeah, if Bama calls I am leaving.” Truth is that coaches at this level have a different mindset than us. They all think they’re the best and Kiffin would jump at the chance to take over the talent assembled by Saban

Isn’t this the time of year they lose 2 games they shouldn’t? If they can get through the rest with only a loss to UGA then he is closer to getting over the hump than people want to admit.
If he can keep his emotions at check on big games then watch out.

not just the things you named, but when he left LSU he encouraged LSU to hire houston nutt.

Alabama isn't hiring Lane Kiffin. It's not a good fit.
I think Ole Miss is as good of a cultural fit as Lane could hope for to be honest. The only equally good fits that could afford to hire him are Oregon and Miami in my opinion. I think fit is the main reason Lane has stayed at Ole Miss.
Ole Miss is also doing what he asks. Ole Miss is doing really well on the NIL front, we are doing stadium renovations, the fans are showing up bigger than they ever have for home games, and we gave him the money to get the DC and staff members he wants. On top of that, we paid him pretty damn good too. Looking at the schedule, he has a good shot at going 10-2 for the 2nd time in 3 years at Ole Miss, which would be more than impressive enough to say that his resume is good enough. But if the school's NIL isn't in place or he has to build all of the things he's built at Ole Miss again, it really doesn't make a lot of sense.
We are seeing a major shift in college football due to NIL. Not all programs who have been traditionally good will always be good. Not all programs that have been traditionally bad will always be bad.

Add to that, Ole Miss will be in a position to make a 12 team playoff on a semi-regular basis. (Once every 3-4 years). In 24, he will have a team that will be top 15 pre season with a 2 year starter at QB and a top 5 rb and one of the better LBs in the conference. If he wants to peak and run, it will probably be after next year.

He is 6-3 in November at OM, with the only losses coming last year. State has twice as many losses in November in the same time frame
Really awful take on your part.

He got an amazing contract and Ole Miss gave him what he wanted on NIL
He’s in a good spot for at least a couple more years.

You think he'll go pro early? He has another year of eligibility.

Obviously waiting on Nick to retire. He’ll be in Oxford until that day arrives.
He's said publicly, words to the effect that only a fool would follow Saban and history says he's right. Plus, I'm not sure Bama's admin would be as enthused about Kiffin as some fans might be.
In my opinion, Kiffin is generally disgusted with the current dysfunctional state of CFB and if he had a choice, he'd coach a pro team. Kiffin is unpredictable so we'll see where this goes especially once Landry finishes school.

Honestly, I could see this. At least the player payment system is a hell of a lot more structured and defined.

Every projection has him as a late round draft pick if he comes out this year. I could see that happening but I don't think it would be very smart. This is a deep QB class.

He might think this is Darts last year. Dart played 3 games at USC and a lot of people still aren't aware you can RS even playing a few games.

He played in 6 games at USC but he still has a year of eligibility left regardless.

This is the thing no one else has mentioned. I know it seems cheap, but it had a big impact on why he stayed this past year. She made him sit down and watch some photo album video of their time here to shame him into staying.
He’s got a lot more influence and time with his kids than he had for many years prior to now and I think he is genuinely grateful for it and takes it seriously.
Once she’s gone who knows, and I wouldn’t really have any more expectations for him. But I’d be surprised if he made moves before then.
