Massive road win and some added separation in league standings. Needed at least 2 and got that. Need to repeat this upcoming weekend. No midweek game this week.

Alabama baseball used late offense and a solid start from Zane Adams to clinch the series at Ole Miss with a 10-3 victory on Saturday afternoon at Swayze Field. With the win, the 18th-ranked Crimson Tide is now 28-16 overall and 9-12 in Southeastern Conference play.

Ole Miss got on the board with one in the second before Alabama evened the score in the third thanks to a solo homer from Gage Miller. Both teams would go scoreless until the sixth when the Tide began a stretch of seven unanswered runs to build an 8-1 advantage headed to the bottom of the eighth. The Rebels got two back on a homer in that inning, but UA countered with two in the ninth for the 10-3 final.

Miller tied for the team-high total for hits with three as part of a 3-for-5 day that included the homer, two RBI and a run scored. Mac Guscette matched Miller with three knocks, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, two RBI, two runs and a hit-by-pitch. Also homering on the afternoon was Justin Lebron, his second in as many days.

Adams (4-2) put together another standout start in SEC play, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts across 7.0-plus innings for the win. He was followed by Alton Davis II, who allowed one hit and struck out two across the final 2.0 frames to ensure the series-clinching victory for Alabama.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"That was just a gutsy team effort today. Our at-bats for the first three or four innings weren't great, but the story of this whole game was Zane Adams. He did a great job of minimizing the damage in the second inning. His poise and ability to not make the situation bigger than it is was impressive, and that allowed our offense to get going. We were just relentless down the stretch and crushed any hope of a comeback by continuing to tack on runs. This was a full team effort, and I'm really proud of the boys today."
