Getting in and out of the games are a major headache. I remember back in 2003 being able to drive up to the stadium and parking in the large lot down the hill on the south side of the stadium (I think it was like $8 for parking?).
I get it - costs for the Universities have skyrocketed since that time, but when things are so much harder for fans to attend the game, and the Universities don't work on making it easier, then folks are gonna stay at home to watch the games.
Add to the fact that they have now shortened the actual game itself (so they can inject more commercials), and it devalues the cost of the tickets to attend.

The product that Ole Miss and a lot of other schools is giving us will keep pushing more and more people away over time. When the toll paid for a trip to Oxford for a day or a weekend keeps going up and the experience keeps getting worse, the feedback loop of warm and fuzzy rebel feelz is stopped. When you have a positive experience, it makes you want more. Parking is a nightmare, the games are way too long, and everything from gas to tickets is too expensive. And unless we’re good, my love for the Rebs and my friends is the only draw. I do not want more of most of my experience. shite and I’m from Memphis…..
