Alabama track and field's Tarsis Orogot (200m), Samuel Ogazi (400m | 4x400m), Khaleb McRae (400m | 4x400m), Chris Robinson (400m hurdles | 4x400m), Victor Kiprop (5000m), Doris Lemngole (5000m) and Corde Long (4x400m relay) took home medals in their respective events on the final day of the 2024 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The perforamnces would lead the UA men to a second-place team finish at the conference meet, only seven points shy of the title.

Orogot highlighted the night claiming gold in the men's 200-meter dash behind a personal-best 19.75. The junior recorded an NCAA-leading time and the third-fastest time in collegiate history. The performance also secured him the Ugandan national record, the East African record, a meet record and a UA school record.

Robinson also collected a gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles after recording a 48.43.

Ogazi (second | 44.58) and McRae (third | 44.68) followed up, both medaling in the 400-meter dash. Ogazi recorded a personal best, along with the second-fastest time in the NCAA as the silver-medal performance became a school record, as well as the sixth-fastest U20 time globally. McRae's bronze-medal time was also a personal-best and the third-fastest time in the NCAA, as McRae now also holds the second-fastest time in school history.

The men's 4x400-meter relay squad of Robinson, Ogazi, Long and McRae grabbed the silver medal after clocking a 2:59.06, only three-tenths of a second shy of first place, to secure the second-fastest time in school history and in the NCAA.

Two days after his 10,000-meter gold, Kiprop returned to the track to secure yet another medal, this time in the 5,000-meter run, recording a 13:39.51.

On the women's side, Doris Lemngole followed up with a silver-medal-winning performance in the 5,000-meter recording a 15:25.86. Her 18 individual points across the conference championship meet (first – 3,000m steeplechase; second – 5,000m) awarded her a share of the women's Commissioner's Trophy for collecting the most points individually.

In total, Alabama would claim five gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals, en route to 15 total top-eight finishes while in Gainesville. Four different student-athletes would also adjust UA's all-time top-10 lists over the three-day meet.

The UA men finished the conference meet in second place with 104 points while the UA women finished ninth with 42 points.

Orogot's time would be in contention for medaling at the Olympics later this year. Not sure if he can hold form that long, but he certainly has the talent.
